Kay Rowan graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2018, where she was taught by estemeed composers like Mark Bowden and Aaron Holloway-Nahum. Since then, she has been lucky enough to collaborate with a number of esteemed and talented performers, ensembles and arts groups, inlcuding Psappha, Echo Vocal Ensemble, and Rose Collective, and has composed music for both stage and screen. Kay’s music is often sparse, minamlist and emotive, drawing on influences ranging from contemporary classical to traditional folk.

Most recently, she has composed the musical score and soundscape for the short film ‘wharf warble‘ (2025)
